This is the fourth book that the author and illustrator have combined their talents to produce. Nature’s Christmas Story, The Easter Sparrows, Holiday Adventures for Kids, and The First Advent, were their four previous works, and all four books were released by WestBow Press.
The author, Michael J. Larson, is a retired educator of forty-two years. The first thirty-four years of his teaching career were spent teaching high school biology. During the last eight years, he was the coordinator at the Bonanza Education Center where he introduced elementary and high school students to the wonders of nature. Presently he is living with his wife, Kathie, on a small hobby farm where he continues to craft the written word, garden, golf, and entertain grandchildren. The illustrator, Janine Ringdahl Schmidt, received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in 1989 from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Her husband is a farmer, and together they are raising their three children, Hannah, Nora, and Nelson. Besides book illustrating, Janine teaches local art classes, organizes mural paintings in her local community, and produces calligraphy art.
